DAAD RISE Fellowship
RISE Germany offers summer research internships in Germany for undergraduate students from North America, Great Britain and Ireland. In their internships, students are carefully matched with doctoral students and researchers whom they assist and who serve as their mentors. Interns receive a monthly stipend to cover every day costs. About 300 scholarships are available each year. RISE Germany is supported by the Federal Foreign Office and by many partners.

Goethe Institute Scholarship
I was selected from a national pool of applicants for my work in designing a water filtration device that had potential applications for third-world countries.
From November 28th to December 6th, 2015, I explored research institutions in the fields of Geoscience, Bionics and Technology. I learned about the Rosetta mission at the German Aerospace Center in Braunschweig. I also visited Germany’s capital, Berlin, and experienced life as a student in a German STEM excellence school in Braunschweig. To round off the visit, I visited the Cologne Cathedral and enjoyed German culture at the Christmas market.
